The Department of Chemistry, 生物学, 健康 Sciences offers a thesis and non-thesis MS degree in Green and Sustainable Chemistry. An accelerated master’s program in Green and Sustainable Chemistry, in which students can earn a MS in as little as one year after completion of their BS degree at South Dakota Mines, is available. The program provides professional preparation for green jobs in industry, 国家实验室, 联邦机构, universities and/or careers in research, 发展, 和管理.

The MS Green and Sustainable Chemistry program curriculum is designed to address the growing demand for highly qualified professionals in the broad area of green and sustainable chemistry and technologies and to support and complement current research foci in green and sustainable chemistry. The program offers opportunities for advanced studies and research in renewable energy, sustainable chemistry, environmental science, 人类健康, 生物技术, 和生物材料.

Students with a bachelor's degree in chemistry, 生物学, or related multidisciplinary fields are encouraged to apply. 鳍ancial assistance including graduate fellowship, graduate teaching assistantship (GTA), or graduate research assistantship (GRA) may be available to qualified graduate students. The faculty of the Department of Chemistry, 生物学, 健康 Sciences also participate in several South Dakota Mines graduate programs including the MS and PhD programs in Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical and Biological Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Material Engineering and Science, Nanoscience and Nanoengineering.
