The 部门 Humanities provides study in the fields of art, 艺术历史, 沟通, foreign languages, 人文学科, 文学, 音乐, 哲学, 和 western civilization. The curriculum uses a broad-based approach, often developing linkages between the 人文学科 和 the science, 工程, 和 technical fields that School of Mines students enter after graduation.Â
Although the South Dakota Mines offers no degrees in specific 人文学科 和 social sciences disciplines, Humanities 和 社会科学 are designed to complement the technical curriculum 和 enrich the academic 和 intellectual lives of South Dakota Mines’ students.Â
社会科学
The 部门 社会科学 provides courses in disciplines that focus on the institutions of human society 和 the social, 文化, 和 psychological aspects of human behavior. By utilizing empirical 和 quantitative methods in the study of human beings, the curriculum often demonstrates how profoundly scientific 和 technological developments affect 和 are affected by society 和 the environment.Â
Although South Dakota Mines offers no degrees in the social sciences, your social science courses will complement your technical study 和 enrich your academic 和 intellectual life.
